What is Know Your Customer?

Jasmine Shillington Updated by Jasmine Shillington

From time-to-time we will need to confirm your details as part of our 'Know Your Customer' (KYC) requirements under our Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) program as required under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006.

We ask this information for two main reasons:

  • To ensure that the information we hold on file for you is correct and up to date. This helps us to identify and stop any unusual activity that may occur on your account as soon as possible.
  • To ensure that we're acting in accordance with our obligations set out by our regulators. All financial institutions operating within Australia are required to collect and maintain this information.

What details will be checked?

If you are required to confirm your personal details as part of our KYC program, you’ll receive a pop-up message within our Mobile App. You will then follow the prompts to verify your:

  • Contact details,
  • Employment details,
  • Income details, and
  • Identity (in some instances).
