Why should I take out travel insurance?

Jasmine Shillington Updated by Jasmine Shillington

Travel insurance protects you, and those covered under your policy while travelling by providing financial assistance in events such as when you have an accident, get sick while travelling overseas, or lose your luggage. In some instances, it may also help before you travel if you need to cancel your trip due to an accident or illness.

Travelling within Australia

When you’re travelling in Australia, CGU Travel Insurance can be helpful as you might lose or damage your luggage, have your belongings stolen, or damage your rental car. Terms, conditions, limits and exclusions apply. Refer to the PDS for details.

Travelling overseas

When travelling overseas, even little accidents can cost a lot. So it’s good to know that with CGU Travel Insurance, you can get cover for medical expenses and emergency medical evacuation costs; help if you need emergency accommodation because of severe weather; or, if your luggage is accidentally lost or stolen.

Terms, conditions, limits and exclusions apply. Refer to the PDS for details.
